Editor's Note
Both seasonally and religiously, this is a time of rebirth. New growth springs from the ashes of winter … and of the losses of the past. But war rarely pauses for such “sentimental” reasons, and flowers get crushed by the cold metal of tank tracks. There is no mercy in the wars we fight, and in that we lose much more than our humanity. We lose connection to the Earth and each other.

Maxine Waters appeared on “All In with Chris Hayes” on Feb. 21, 2017. Asked to respond to remarks by Reince Priebus, what happened next was a surprise. Not only did Representative Waters respond regarding Priebus’ comments, she laid out the cast of characters and possible motivations of Trump’s, and those surrounding him, ties to Putin and Russia. Johan Galtung

Interview By Gary Corseri

Editor's Note
This is a very interesting interview about global hot spots with a leading figure from the Peace movement. Certainly Russia plays an important role in many of these areas, as does the United States; enough that one might wonder if we are back in the Cold War again. Given that, what happens when an apolitical (relatively policy clueless) President Trump stands (unwittingly) toe to toe with ex-KGP President of Russia? Pass the peace please.
