The Republicans have spent at least 24 years manipulating voter access when the mass purging of Florida voters occurred before the 2000 vote. They even needed the Supreme Court to shut down a recount in Florida thereby selecting George W. Bush as President. SCOTUS stepped in again in 2013 to gut the Voting Rights Act (Shelby v Holder). It is about harnessing the power of government and placing it in the hands of the financial elite, often hidden behind the elite proxy – the corporation. It follows the dictum of the worst kind of socialism – socialism for the wealthy. An appropriate label for the “government” they are successfully implementing is “plutocratic fascism” while crafting an evermore blatant kleptocracy that redirects the wealth of the nation into the burgeoning coffers of the rich, many while engaging in self-dealing.
