I am sickened by the increasing cruelty and violence of Trump, Vance, and the Trump cult GOP. Most recently this is taking the form of dangerous conspiracy theories about resources available, and response to Hurricane Helene. This has included everything from lies about diversion of FEMA disaster funds to immigrant housing, withholding of response and resources to “red” (aka assumably Trump) areas, and calling in false emergency rescues. This last has resulted in the diversion of highly critical rescue teams to false calls. The people attempting to recover from this massive disaster are traumatized and still in tenuous situations. There is a broad lack of communication. To spread these types of rumors and outright lies at this time is beyond self-serving. It is cruel and dangerous. However, it is of a piece with the priorities of Trump and his political co-conspirators.
