America and Humour From Hell

Politics is always a game of pretension. Politicians remind us of inherent lies, deception, embedded greed, and mastery of persuasive propaganda to voters to do good for fellow citizens if chosen for leadership. They possess an irresistible impulse of political power to grab as their property to set the agenda of actions – the fate and future of millions and millions of innocent human beings to rule as democracy at work. The US professes to be a nation of peace, equality, justice, and freedom. Is it so? After the Joe Biden presidential election, Donald Trump raised a scheme of uproars, confusion, and an attack on the nation’s capital alleging ‘election fraud’ and that he was the real winner. He alluded to several criminal cases as politically motivated, but some of the judicial hearings charged him with criminal acts. Now re-elected, Donald Trump gets ‘unconditionally discharged’ in the NY court hush money case; the other cases are gone with the wind too as he assumes the presidency on January 20th. Could a common citizen of the US be entitled to such favorable treatment?

Israel’s War on Gaza Is a War on Children

It is almost impossible to grasp what is happening to the children of Gaza. Displaced and forced to move from one end of Gaza to the other. Bombs and missiles exploding around them and being the direct target of rifle fire. Many, now bereft of all family, find themselves either caring for younger siblings, or in the care of strangers. There is no quiet; no safe place, no food or clean water, and no warm clothing to protect from the cold. Children now need hearing aids because of exposure to constant explosions. Is it any wonder that their affect range from rage to crushing depression? Will we see children taking their lives as we have seen in other situations where children have been ripped from their lives and culture?

How Have Arab Leaders Betrayed the Masses?

Western Leaders Are Spectators Watching the Israeli Massacres

President Biden and Secretary Blinken knew and witnessed the ferocious and tragic abnormality of the Israeli planned killing of civilians and genocide in Gaza but their interests and policies were aligned with the unthinking evilmongering in Palestine. Continued occupation, forcible displacement, and daily killings of civilians are the strategic goals, of the Israeli extremist political leadership who were encouraged by the US-hired supporters who envisage plans of a ‘greater Israel’ inclusive of Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and parts of Egypt. The neo-colonial installed puppets – the former tribal agents – now self-made kings, princes, and presidents follow the European and American dictum for their survival. They are immune to logic and advice from Muslim scholarly experts in global affairs. The US and a  few Western European leaders neglecting their history masked their warmongering not knowing the consequences of their viciousness against humanity. When life and human survival face critical challenges, thinking people and global institutions should respond with a collective will to stop the civilian massacres and genocide. Not so, in waiting are the Arab-Muslim leaders to see if anything would happen out of nowhere to stop the Israeli carnage of planned killing and destruction of Gaza and the rest of Palestine. I think we are rapidly being reprogrammed to a very alarming mindset. It is a dichotomous world with sharp edges and deadly consequences. To some extent, this is the threat of fundamentalism of all kinds. Things are black and white and the consequences of being on the wrong side are swift and harsh. The attraction of fundamentalism is that it is perceived as “simple” and eliminates the complexities of a “modern” world. Fundamentalism also is generally hierarchical and the person (generally male) has tremendous power to make decisions. If there are complexities, it is HIM (or a collectivity of hims) who will make a (wise) choice.
