We are of the Earth; all made of the same stuff; relatives. Recognizing this and embracing it is the difference between so-called “Western civilization” and the peoples who were (are) labeled as less than justifying everything from ignoring, to slavery, to genocide. This has more than historical roots. It is part of the warp and weft of what is assumed to be “advanced” civilization. At its root is a hard line between “man” and “nature”, and in saying “man” I do not mean humans, but those who are physiologically male because women too are seen as lesser and ruled by nature.
