I feel the danger levels rising regarding not just our democracy (and democracies around the world) but centuries-long efforts at ensuring equality and working to create societies that are peaceful and where all are treated with respect and the Earth is honored. These efforts are being labeled derogatorily and as a threat to our nation and world. I can’t help but shake my head when I hear that anti-woke legislation is being written and passed across the country. I am not using this terminology as a shortcut, but that this terminology is actually being written in as state legislation. What makes it worse is that umbrella terms like this are so vague and broad that they can apply to ever broader swathes of our citizenry. The threats to life and our future are all too real.
