The depersonalization of intensely personal and impactful military actions are indeed chilling. Creating an entire dictionary of operational terms and calculations for planning and carrying out military actions are deliberately “calculating.” I appreciate Robert Koehler’s discussion here of reading between and behind the verbiage of war.
